You know you had one. Or six. We all did. I think I remember having two but I only really remember one. Her yarn hair was excellent for cutting and man did she look like a punk when I was done with her! My cousin had one, and might even still have it, and kept it around kind of like a security blankie. Me, I just had a blankie.
But these were probably the one type of doll that I could actually tolerate simply because they didn't have beady eyes. They were just stickers. Not glass orbs that you swore blinked when you looked at them out of the corner of our eye. They were the least threatening of all doll-like things. If they're still around, I will allow my theoretical children to have these dolls. But no others.

Cabbage Patch kids growing in the garden, CPKids growing in the sun. Good marketing song, that one. My daughter has a CPK now, I forgot they smell like BAby powder.

I had totally forgotten about Cabbage Patch dolls! I loved those. Wasn't there a TV show as well?
I always wanted one but somehow never did get one.
Thanks for The Puzzle King it arrived a few days ago sorry for not letting you know sooner but I've been crazy busy.

My grown daughter still has the one (Amanda, if I remember right) we got for her when she was just an infant :)
Personally, I'm not a doll person. When I was a kid, the only dolls I was interested in were cardboard, colored cutouts that I made myself from the Addams Family characters I watched on TV lol
My friend still has her talking Cabbage Patch - whose eyes were real and she blinked! Creepy!!!
I gave you an award at my blog!

I had three but two of them were sold at a garage sale thanks to my Dad. I do have the one still. I wonder if he's worth any money. Yes Dad sold Missy who was a preemie and I'm not sure what the other one was called the pigtailed one I think with red hair. The boy's name is Jason and I do have a couple of the small ones including the action figure type ones.
Oh god, I had three of these. A girl called Shelley Lyda, a boy called Darryl Quinn and a baby girl called Angel Dorothea. Yes, I was a spoiled brat.
I also had the *awesomest* Cabbage Patch Kids story tape with songs. I can actually remember them word for word now. I am so lame.
