Apparently David Yates has gone off the deep end with deviating from the book on this one. All romance, removing pivotal memory scenes and Dumbledore survives? WTF? They're splitting the last movie in two because they don't want to compromise the story and they're ass-raping HBP? Why? There's so much important information in HBP that needs to be said in order to get to Deathly Hallows that it's just downright sacrilege to cut it out. And all of the romance was either comedic relief (Ron and Lavender) or underlying (Harry and Ginny). Why are those aspects being amped up? Why are they screwing with Harry Potter? Go mutilate Twilight. It's not like it's too far off. Preserve Harry Potter for the awesomeness that it is instead of cranking it out to please a particular target audience, or so they think.
Shouldn't they know by now that said target audience wants what's in the books and not what the studios think they want? Why haven't they gotten that yet? We're on the sixth damn movie already!

I don't think they'll ever get that, to be honest. They like screwing with them too much. Though, saying that, I did think the OOTP movie was very close to the book!
They're making Dumbledore survive?! I agree WTF I'm so boycotting everything to do with HP movies if they do that.
I don't think so. I mean that would screw up the whole narrative. Dumbledore has to die, otherwise it would not make any sense.
And I hate to admit this, but I did like the romance in the book. It was a nice diversion from the ensuing darkness. Made the last book that much more palatable. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.
I think the closest movies were the first two, the ones that Chris Columbus did. Yeah, they were kind of campy and kiddie but so were the books. But at least he understood to keep them intact.
And yeah, big thing is DD surviving. I have no idea why or what would possess them to do that. Maybe he'll die at the beginning of the next movie. I have no idea. But a nice way to screw the plot.
I liked the romance too but the way the test audience makes it sound, the movie people turned the film into a romance. All that's supposed to be underlying and a break from the darkness, not the other way around. Ugh.
Is that what the article says? I read they screwed it up, but no direct reference to Dumbledore surviving. Could have missed it.
I wish they would leave Harry alone. He is perfect as is!
