Added to the Pile + 2

Hey! I got the rest of the books I was expecting this week! Yeah, don't expect any more for a while, unless I win more. I really need to crank through this TBR pile. It's just this side of ridiculous.

I got my copy of Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson that I won from Lenore. Yay! And it's my first ARC.

"Dead girl walking," the boys say in the halls.

"Tell us your secret," the girls whisper, one toilet to another.

I am that girl.

I am the space between my thighs, daylight shining through.

I am the bones they want, wired on a porcelain frame.

Wintergirls explores the emotions that underlie the obsessive, competitive culture or eating disorders as only Laurie Halse Anderson could. With lyrical, evocative prose, she tells the unforgettable story of one girl's desperate struggle to battle the demons within.

I also got my copy of A Season of Eden by J.M. Warwick from The Faerie Drink Review. Read this snippet and tell me it didn't tingle your dingle a little bit.

He's my teacher. I shouldn't be alone with him. But I can't help that he's irresistible.

I let the door silently close at my back. He stared at me, and a taut quiet stretched between us.

"I like hearing you play," I said, moving toward him.

He turned, in sync with my slow approach. He looked up at me but didn't say an
ything. I rested my clammy hand on the cold, slick body of the baby grand. "May I?"

The muscles in his throat shifted, then he swallowed. "Eden."

My knees weakened, like a soft tickling kiss has just been blown against the backs of them. "Is it okay?" I asked.

His gaze held mine like two hands joined. he understood what I was really asking.

"Let me stay," I said. "Please."

"You're going to get me in trouble."

Hot, huh?

Thanks again, Lenore! I'm really looking forward to reading it. I think I'm going to start assigning numbers to my TBR pile and pulling them at random. It's so hard to choose!

I'm really itching to read A Season of Eden though. Schmexy!

A Season of Eden is a book I plan to read!! The teacher/student relationship doesn't seem hot to me but it sounds like this book is going to change my mind.
