Swatch Watches!!!
If you didn't have like a million of these and wore them all at once, you so weren't cool. The goal was the collect as many Swatch Watches as humanly possible. And while they're made from pretty cheap plastic, they weren't cheap to buy so it was another branding thing back in the day. Still, I wouldn't mind owning a few. Then again I'm just tacky like that.

Swatches. I had a white one and thought it was pretty radical, dude. Last fall I actually came across a Swatch store and they have some amazing (and expensive) designs these days!
I totally had three or four swatches and would wear them all at once. I even set them to different time zones. Pretty rad.
I had a couple of them too. I loved them and went looking for them a couple years ago.
I wore three at a time - oh yeah, I was cool :)
I had one, but you were right they were not cheap. They were like $40 and that was a lot for an accessory back in the day....Stacy
Total flashback! My mum actually a Swatch watch before me (to my annoyance she was one of those cool parents that all my friends wanted to be like), but I loved them. Eventually I spent an entire summer's babysitting money on buying one of the 'pop Swatch' watches, which were like a fabric band you popped the watch itself into. It was *so* worth it. Thanks for the nostalgia hit.
LOVE these :) I had a few. For fun I looked for the one I had on Ebay to see if anyone had it for say. I found it and they wanted like $300!!!!! At the Mall of America they have a Swatch store. They are still cute, but nothing like the ones from the 80's
LMAO and they are so back in style. I remember those. Yea I WAS cool ;)
I still think Swatches are cute. I have some knock off Simpsons swatches, but tend to wear my elegant silver watch instead.
Personally, I am more of a fan of Guess and Fossil when it comes to time-telling wrist devices, but yes Swatches are cute in that cheap sort of way, like when you don't need to look all professional and can let your hair down!
I remember swatches being popular, but I somehow missed this 80's trend. I looked at swatch.com. They have a couple of cute ones, but $55 for plastic? Yeah I don't think so.
I always wanted one of these but could never afford it back in the college days. I had to save my pennies for Spaghetti Os and Ladies Night at the college bars! Love these posts!!
I never owned a real Swatch. I just had the cheap ones. No way could I get my parents to spend that much on a piece of plastic I was probably going to break anyway.
