So Aprilynne Pike's novel Wings is getting made into a movie. The star? Miley Cyrus, Miss Hannah Montana herself.
I haven't read the book yet and while I think Cyrus's music can be pretty damn catchy, I think anything she touches just might be bordering on fail. For those of you that read it and know the main character, what do you think? Is this a good fit? Do you think Cyrus can do the MC justice?
Now I want to read the book just to see if Cyrus is going to FUBAR the role or not.

I have to admit I am NOT looking forward to this movie. I'm not a Miley fan at all - she annoys the hell out of me.
Not sure you'd like Wings... a lot of people think it's worse than Breaking Dawn...
Ick. Not a fan of Miley Cyrus. I haven't read Wings, but I'm not too sure if I'd like it. Plus, imagining Miley Cyrus as the main character doesn't help.
Oh, you have awards here. :)

I vote they cast someone else.
I'd say Wings is a must-read no matter what they do with the movie. A few outspoken book bloggers are breaking out the hate, but I think prophecygirl's actual review is spot-on.
I can't wait for the sequel.
Anonymous - I agree, I think the book's worth reading. But the casting for the mnovie could have been a lot better.
Maybe they're aiming at a younger age, which is why Miley fits the bill? Who knows!
You should read the book! I's really good!
I don't know how I feel about Miley as Laurel though...
Miley Cyrus makes me want to vomit. LOL
I like Miley as Hannah Montana but haven't seen her in anything else so I can't compare. I abhor Wings (as you probably know) and don't really care what happens to the movie either way. But Miley is definitely not my idea of Laurel.
I just don't like Miley Cyrus period. She just irks me. No good reason. She just does.
Steph, I read your review of Wings. Eek. I don't know if I can take another love triangle a la Twilight.
Wings is a great book in my view, but Miley CANNOT play Laurel. Laurel too good for Miley flippin annoying butt. I say they recast the part. Seriously, since when was Wings a four-year old book?
