Ok, because I'm a horror whore, I've decided to highlight YA horror books (not just authors, more posts that way) published between 1980 and 1999. That's enough of a gap to get me all nostalgic and have me going 'OMG I remember that!!!' So every Friday will be a new Freaky Friday post (Horror Whores post, I'm telling you, I have a graphic brewing for that one) that highlights YA horror of the days of yore and side ponytails.
The author list, so far, is as follows--
- Christopher Pike
- R.L. Stine
- Caroline B. Cooney
- Carmen Adams
- Alvin Schwartz
- L.J. Smith
- Nicholas Adams
- Bebe Faas Rice
- T.S. Rue
- Joseph Locke
- Beverly Hastings
- Janice Harrell
- Robert Hawks
- Nicole Davidson
- M.C. Sumner
- Zoe Daniels
- Cynthia Blair
- Graham Masterson
- Richard Lee Byers
- Diane Hoh
- Carol Ellis
- Auline Bates
- Lael Littke
- Barbara Steiner
- D.E. Athkins
- Sinclair Smith
- Richie Tankersley Cusick
- Celia Rees
- Lois Duncan
- Linda Piazza
The second bit of introduction is for 80s Awesomeness!, a weekly Saturday post that brings into your life a little bit of 80s. I'll be highlighting movies, music, fashion, games, whatever! Have something you want to see? Just let me know. Why the 80s? Why not? Because leg warmers and acid wash are the epitome of cool. Duh. Look for this post on Saturdays.
Freaky Friday/Horror Whores will start posting tomorrow and every Friday thereafter (in the evening, most likely) and 80s Awesomeness! will start this Saturday and will totally rock on every Saturday after that (first half of the day, probably).
Stay tuned, dudes!

Oh 80s awesome is a really cool idea. Do you mind if I join you on that one? I'm a total sucker for the 80's. So it would be a lot of fun to do that one with you! I can think of like 5 million awesome 80's things off the top of my head.
Your list looks pretty complete. How many of these do you have?
It is going to be such fun to have someone else to discuss these with! yay :)
Man, I used to have ALL of Christopher Pike and R.L. Stein. I have no idea where the books went or why I don't have them anymore. Well, it was lets see 15 years ago. lol
Christopher Pike and Lois Duncan were my favorites.
Sharon, absolutely! We could totally, like, rad out in the 80s together! Should I start a Mr. Linky? Think others would want to join in?
And eh, to be honest I only have one of the books from one of the authors on that list that's genuinely from that time. I'm hitting myself for getting rid of all of them. I do have some Goosebumps though.
I'm with you, Brooke! I think it's time to scour Amazon.
Lenore, how could I forget Lois Duncan? Added she is.
I swear I commented here before, or at least intended to. Love the idea for Freaky Friday. I was a mad fan of both R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike. Oh I loved Pike!
Thanks, Ben! Those were and are some awesome authors, especially if they're still being talked about (and still writing!)!
