Oh yeah. This literary gem was an 80s spawn. Don't sit there and lie to yourself. You know you loved it. I had so many of the books, plus the board game plus the scratchy sleeping bag that only came up to my waist. I was so freakin' cool it hurt. And now, like everything else dredged out of the 80s ooze, The Baby Sitters Club is making a comeback. You know you're going to run out and buy them. Or at the very least head online and scour the likes of Powell's for the old school versions. We don't want no stinkin' MP3 players in our Baby Sitters Club books. Give me tape decks, dammit.

Ahhhh...Sassy magazine. I miss that more than anything. What I'd give for a stack of those right now! Thanks for the clip. It brought me back.
I was in high school and college in the 80s so I missed out on this series. I'm sure I would have loved it though!
I loved reading The Baby-Sitters Club. I still have my original copy of Kristy's Great Idea. It's a little beat up, but still readable.
I don't care what anybody says...the 80's rocked. The BabySitters Club was one of the reasons why!! OMG I read ALL of these books. *sigh* Those were the good old days. :D
Oh, yeah! The BSC was a huge thing for me. I loved, loved, loved the books--especially the Super Special Editions. I didn't care for the show or the movie, though. I never thought the actresses were quite right for the roles for some reason.
no way they're editing the old ones to add mp3 players and stuff??? crazy!!! i LOVED these books!! i had sooo many!! claudia and stacey were always my faves!
I had the whole series and loved it. Even now I couldn't tell you exactly why. I remember carrying my Babysitter's Club books around middle school in my back pack...along with the Lord of the Rings books; yep I had varied reading tastes.
This reminds me, did anyone read the Sweet Valley Twins? That was another big 80's series I got into :-)

Back in the 80s, I read Sweet Valley Twins (and yeah, Sweet Valley Kids, too) rather than The Baby-Sitters Club. But a few months ago, I saw a used copy of Kristy's Great Idea at a thrift store and decided to see what I had missed out on.
I had missed on a lot!!!
Now I'm a fan and a collector. Yes, the 80s ruled! =D
