Book Wars ( 33)

The Luxe and Fever 1793 ended up in a dead heat last week. Looks like we'll have to call it a draw. This week, we're doing the time warp. FIGHT!

It all began with a great idea ... and the inspiring original story of the Baby-sitters Club is back! Kristy Thomas's brilliant business plan gets off to a great start with the help of Claudia Kishi (vice-president), Mary Anne Spier (secretary), and Stacey McGill (treasurer). (from bn.com)

vs.

Will Jessica steal Todd from Elizabeth?

Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield are identical twins at Sweet Valley High. They`re both popular, smart, and gorgeous, but that's where the similarity ends. Elizabeth is friendly, outgoing, and sincere — nothing like her snobbish and conniving twin. Jessica gets what she wants — at school, with friends, and especially with boys.

This time, Jessica has set her sights on Todd Wilkins, the handsome star of the basketball team — the one boy that Elizabeth really likes. Elizabeth doesn't want to lose him, but what Jessica wants, Jessica usually gets... even if it ends up hurting her sister.

Meet the Wakefield twins, their guys, and the rest of the gang at Sweet Valley High.... (from bn.com)

Aww, I loved The Babysitter's Club.

I'm basically a reader today because of the BSC so I definitely choose them! My favorite character was Stacey: she was blond, from New York, and loved math! Of course because of SVH, I desperately wanted to be a twin. But still BSC!

Sweet Valley High. No question. Check out this "version" of Babysitter's Club if written by Bret Easton Ellis.

Like OMG the thirteenth chime sucked so much and I hate how all those dumbasses suck up to her... umm book blogging means blogging about the books and your honest opinion. what we should be scared to not like a book now? then whats the point of blogging in the first place? sorry but most of us live in america and this is a free country and we have the right to say what we feel. so we're going to get estranged from the rest of the community because we say what we feel is true?? WOW. that's fucking stupid.

This is too close to call! As a teen I would have said SVH just about had the edge, but having reread them both in the past year I actually thought Kristy's Great Idea has aged better than Double Love.

Hmm. I have to go with SVH. I think if I calculated the sheer number of hours that I spent reading SVH books, it would trump BSC.
