August and September TBR Pile Update

Moving cross-country has a tendency of rattling things up a bit.  My one month of being an Arizona resident comes up on Thursday and I'm still trying to settle into some kind of routine.  The prospect that we're moving again soon doesn't help things any but I'm trying.  At least I have something down.  Let's take another step toward settling, shall we?

The pile at the beginning of the year -

And ye olde digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

By the time I moved I was trekking about 197 books 2,600 miles.  To get technical Soldier Boy was driving the truck and since I spent a fair portion of the unloading with my head in the toilet he was the one that actually brought the boxes in.  But, you know, technicalities.  So where am I now?  At 195.  It's starting to feel like a slow crawl.  Yes, I'm dropping but it feels like water weight at this point that keeps collecting around my lower belly and JUST WON'T GO AWAY.

What my pile looks like now in it's new location -

At least now I don't run the risk of slamming my head into the rather hard beam of a pitched ceiling.  That hurt a bit.

And my most recent digital pile (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
ASHEN WINTER by Mike Mullin
TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES edited by Georgia McBride and Michelle Zink
MORE by TM Franklin
THE LOST PRINCE by Julie Kagawa
CLEOPATRA ASCENDING by Maureen Lipinski
MIDWINTERBLOOD by Marcus Sedgwick
IRON'S PROPHECY by Julie Kagawa (a .79 steal from Harlequin)

I'm down to a little baby digital list now but now I have a job where I actually don't have time to read at my desk for hours on end so don't expect me to crank through these like I've been.  I'm back to reading like a normal person now.  Chagrin.  That number whittling down is going to go even slow.

July TBR PIle Update

I didn't have any books hang me up in July but I did receive some AWESOME FANTASY presents so that piled the titles back on.  At least I've been steadily reading so that should have helped with the numbers a bit.

The pile at the beginning of the year -

Imposing and nominally threatening.  Thankfully the digital list was small -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

June closed it's doors with 198 books in my pile.  What about July?  197.  Down one!  Considering what I took on this month I'd say that's a win.  Still hovering too close to 200 for my liking but with the life change I have coming up I doubt I'll be adding much of anything in the next couple of months.  A nice remedy for an overwhelming TBR pile.

The pile in it's currently glory -

Still incredibly imposing but I only have three titles left in my ARC review pile that provide varying ranges of embarrassment for having sat there for so long.  The rest are from this year, mostly the last couple of months (a few of which are duplicates with the digital pile).  Hooray!

And my current digital list (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN) (my evil twin can shut the hell up about this one, I WILL READ IT)
HANGING BY A THREAD by Sophie Littlefield
HANA by Lauren Oliver (Sony Digital Library)
THE CURIOSITIES by Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton (duplicate)
FOUR SECRETS by Margaret Willey (duplicate)
ASHEN WINTER by Mike Mullin
THE INFECTS by Sean Beaudoin
BEYOND by Graham McNamee
THE CROOKED LETTER by Sean Williams (Pyr on-site free download) (duplicate)
BAD GLASS by Richard E. Gropp
TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES edited by Georgia McBride and Michelle Zink

I ended up having to drop THE RAFT by SA Bodeen because the pub archived the title before I could get to it.  Doesn't come out until the 21st and I could have sworn I had time enough to download it but I must have been wrong.  Went to download it last night and poof.  Gone.  Next on the digital list is probably BEYOND by Graham McNamee as the dates go.

June TBR Pile Update

The storm has blown by and now it's time to check the damage.  Did BEA cause me to spill over the retaining wall?  Do I now need to feed my pile rations of Twinkies to keep it satisfied?  Let's find out.

The tangible pile at the beginning of the year -

With it's own complimentary digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

May saw an end with 193 books.  A rather overwhelming number.  For June?  I'm up to 198.  That's up a mere five books from last month, with one that stalled my pile by nearly the entire month of June due to its density.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself for having BEA thrown in there.  I've abated a minor panic attack and am only breathing a bit shallowly at the moment.  I'll be okay.  I'm not at 200.  I'll be okay.

My pile at the moment -

I'm still feeling rather accomplished with my ARC pile being as low as it is (with a couple of those titles being duplicates with NetGalley).  I don't feel like I'll go insane.

And the digital list, all from NetGalley unless I say so -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS by Ruth Long
THE RAFT by SA Bodeen
HANGING BY A THREAD by Sophie Littlefield
HANA by Lauren Oliver (Sony Digital Library)
THE CURIOSITIES by Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton
FOUR SECRETS by Margaret Willey
ASHEN WINTER by Mike Mullin
THE INFECTS by Sean Beaudoin
BEYOND by Graham McNamee
THE CROOKED LETTER by Sean Williams (Pyr on-site free download)
BAD GLASS by Richard E. Gropp
GIRL OF NIGHTMARES by Kendare Blake
BLADE SONG by JC Daniels

Still incredibly manageable, the digital pile, with me still reading ahead of release dates.  It's like the monkey is off my back and combing my dog for bugs or something.  He won't find any since my dog just got groomed but he's otherwise occupied from just being a monkey on my back,

May TBR Pile Update

Now it's the calm before the storm.  I've had three weeks of no added books and while it's been a rather slow reading month for me I know the inevitable shit storm's coming.  I mean I do leave for BEA on Tuesday morning.  It's only a matter of time.  But for right now I have May and it was a quiet one.

The original pile -

And it's sister digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

I closed April with 194 books.  I closed May with 193.  Still a loss, albeit a small one, but I'll take it.  Rest assured I'll be weeping into my pillow come July.  Poor me, I know.  I still hold onto the pride that I have in keeping my review pile (far left below) so low and how on top of my digital galleys I am.  It's something I can hang on to.  At the very least.

The pile as of May's end -

Look at the little woobie!  So tiny!  Thank god.  And I really haven't added this year.  I'm okay with that.  Until next week.

And the digital list (from NetGalley unless otherwise noted) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS by Ruth Long
THE RAFT by SA Bodeen
HANGING BY A THREAD by Sophie Littlefield HANA by Lauren Oliver (Sony Digital Library)
THE CURIOSITIES by Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton
SKYLARK by Meagan Spooner
FOUR SECRETS by Margaret Willey
ASHEN WINTER by Mike Mullin
THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas
THE INFECTS by Sean Beaudoin
FREAKS OF THE HEARTLAND by Steve Niles
BEYOND by Graham McNamee
DRAGON AGE, VOLUME 1 by David Gaider, Alexander Freed
THE BLACK ISLE by Sandi Tan

Not incredibly imposing to the point of a nervous breakdown but manageable.  Now if I could just get out of this damn reading funk.  Although the rash of DNFs I'm having is making me plow through my pile a little faster.

April TBR Pile Update

Another month down, some more books read.  But I definitely added a shit ton of digital copies this month so we'll see what my numbers look like.

The pile at the beginning of the year -

With its corresponding digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

I closed out March with 190 books.  How did April come in?  I'm up to 194.  Not terrible but still up.  I'm telling you, digital copies.  I've carved a serious hole in my tangible review pile but the digitals, they're piling up again!  But I'm still on top of them.  Quite proud of that.

The pile as of the end of April -

Look at the hole in the review section (far left)!  OMFG look how much I've done!  So close to being finished!

And now the illustrious digital pile that just keeps growing on me (all from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS by Ruth Long
THE RAFT by SA Bodeen
HANGING BY A THREAD by Sophie Littlefield
HANA by Lauren Oliver (Sony Digital Library)
THE CURIOSITIES by Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton
SKYLARK by Meagan Spooner
FOUR SECRETS by Margaret Willey
ASHEN WINTER by Mike Mullin
THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas
THE INFECTS by Sean Beaudoin
FREAKS OF THE HEARTLAND by Steve Niles
BEYOND by Graham McNamee
WILDE'S FIRE by Krystal Wade
DRAGON AGE, VOLUME 1 by David Gaider, Alexander Freed

See what I mean?  I'm collecting digital copies now, apparently.  Except now I'm actually reading them.  Good blogger.

March TBR Pile Update

Judging by looks alone I know my number has gone down. Woohoo! Let's see by how much . . .

The pile at the start of 2012 -

And its accompanying digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

I was up last month to 195 total. I know I cranked them out in March. But just how much? I'm down to 190. Well . . . I'm just going to have to adjust my definition of "cranked." But it's still lower so I'll take it. I did get hung up on a digital copy because it got stuck on my work computer. The pub archived it really early and my dumb ass didn't download it at home. Good job. Learned from that one. Overall an improvement.

What March looked like -

And it's own personal digital pile (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
YEAR OF THE BEASTS by Cecil Castellucci
SHADOW & BONE by Leigh Bardugo
THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS by Ruth Long
THE RAFT by SA Bodeen
TITANIC by Diane Hoh
HANGING BY A THREAD by Sophie Littlefield

Look at my ARC pile (far left)! It's shrinking!!! I love it! I feel less and less like a douche every day! And the newly acquired pile (far right) is still a baby. Hopefully it stays that way.

February TBR Pile Update

Another month, another pile of books. I already know my number's increased this month so let's rip this off quick like a stuck band-aid.

The pile at the beginning of the year -

With the original digital list -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

I ended with 189 books last month. This month I'm up to 195. Between my Barnes & Noble binge and some review copies I received, I tallied them up. Not too bad, but I'm still up. I need to work on that.

This month's pile -

With this month's digital list (all titles from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
V WARS by Jonathan Maberry
YEAR OF THE BEASTS by Cecil Castellucci
SHADOW & BONE by Leigh Bardugo
THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS by Ruth Long
THE RAFT by SA Bodeen

I no longer fear my digital pile since I've adopted reading at work. Hooray for Digital Editions!

January TBR Pile Update

One month down in 2012. One month closer to the apocalypse. Well, at least I'm getting books read. Let's see how I did.

The pile at the beginning of the year -

Nice and full-looking. With the digital pile (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

I ended 2011 with 197 books in my pile. After one month in 2012? I'm down to 189. How's that for progress! I was a reading machine this month! Plus it helped that I didn't accrue very much.

So for January -

That little teeny tiny baby pile of books off to the right are the books I received this month. I think I can manage. I think.

And the digital list -

THE POISON DIARIES by Maryrose Wood (Epic Reads deal)
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)

You see that? TWO! Two digital books! I've cleared my NetGalley list! They're all gone! I've caught up! Woohoo! And the villagers rejoiced. Talk about feeling accomplished this month.

December TBR Pile Update

The year comes to an end and it's time to take a look at what my TBR pile looks like to start fresh. Now, I've weeded a lot of books out. I've come to realize that my reading tastes have a tendency of changing subtly over time so it'd help me out a bit if I weeded through my TBR pile every six months or so to see if I actually still want to read what's sitting there. Turns out I was able to hack away quite a bit. And while I was at it, I organized everything through Goodreads, that marvelous website. So now I have the whole of my TBR pile there. No more manual counting for me! Hooray! So let's have at it.

The original TBR pile as so noted this time last year -

And the NetGalley list -

1. CRAZY by Han Nolan
2. ALISON'S WONDERLAND by Alison Tyler
3. TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton
4. THE SECRET OF KA by Christopher Pike
5. ANNEXED by Sharon Dogar
6. DEMON HUNTS by CE Murphy
7. EIGHT FOR ETERNITY by Mary Reed and Eric Mayer
8. LOVELY by Kris Starr
9. CAPTIVE SPIRIT by Liz Fichera

36. EVERYTHING I WAS by Corrine Demas
37. WHAT CAN'T WAIT by Ashley Hope Perez
38. ONE HUNDRED CANDLES by Mara Purnhagen
39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

This will be the last time I use that image and this list as my starting point. For the next year, I move onto my current image and digital list which you can find below. But first, the final countdown. Not really. But you know what I mean. I finished up November with 262 books in my pile. For December? According to my awesome new counter on Goodreads? 197! Talk about weeding out! My local library is going to love me. And I feel a few pounds lighter.

Take a look at that. It's all trimmed down. No longer a slew of piles all spread out everywhere, with a huge gap in the middle. I love streamlining. ARCs to the far left, the miscellaneous in the middle and my love of cheese in the far right two piles.

And the digital copies (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff
THE LIBERATION OF MAX MCTRUE by Kim Culbertson (from the author)

Holy crap! That's less than 10 from NetGalley! And none of them are out yet! I'm ahead of the game! I'm ahead! Now if I could just say the same thing about my ARC pile . . .

November TBR Pile Update

*rubs hands together evilly* I think I did good this month! Mainly because I think I acquired a total of two books (in hindsight I think it was a little more than that but oh well). And I know I read far more than that. So let's prove it!

The original -

With my original NetGalley list -

1. CRAZY by Han Nolan
2. ALISON'S WONDERLAND by Alison Tyler
3. TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton
4. THE SECRET OF KA by Christopher Pike

36. EVERYTHING I WAS by Corrine Demas
37. WHAT CAN'T WAIT by Ashley Hope Perez
38. ONE HUNDRED CANDLES by Mara Purnhagen
39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

I ended up evening out last month with a not-too-cool 270. What did I end up with this month? 262! Woohoo! I'd call that a win! Shit, one down would be a win for me. But that's a pretty big jump compared to what I'm normally used to so I'll take it.

My current pile -

With my digital reads (from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
DITCHED by Robin Mellom
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison
TRICK OR TREAT by Richie Tankersley Cusick
101 THINGS YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT THE TITANIC . . . BUT DIDN'T! by Tim Maltin
DROWNING INSTINCT by Ilsa J. Bick
MESMERIZE by Artist Arthur
ESCAPING TITANIC by Marybeth Lorbiecki
TITANIC by Philip Wilkinson
TIME VOYAGE by Steve Brezenoff

There's a slight theme going on with my digital copies (actually there are 4 like titles, the Brezenoff title is centered around Titanic). Believe it or not, I was wondering why so many Titanic titles were coming out in 2012. Duh. Not getting it? Google it.

October TBR Pile Update

Another month, another update. With my recent power outage it helped knocked a few books out but I'm not sure how I did. Let's check it out.

2. ALISON'S WONDERLAND by Alison Tyler

36. EVERYTHING I WAS by Corrine Demas
37. WHAT CAN'T WAIT by Ashley Hope Perez
38. ONE HUNDRED CANDLES by Mara Purnhagen
39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

Last month's numbers had me at 270. This month? I'm at . . . 270. Well, it's a wash. I'll take it. While the number didn't go down, it didn't go up either. And for that I'm happy. Still, it felt like I was chasing my tail a little.

This month's TBR pile -

And the digital list (all titles from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

September TBR Pile Update

With Borders gone and my impulses much more under control, the flow of books has decreased drastically and I think I was able to make some kind of dent. Let's see.

38. ONE HUNDRED CANDLES by Mara Purnhagen
39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

Book count last month was 275. The grand total for September . . . 270. That's a down! Gigiddy. I just need to keep plugging away. Here's what everything looks like as of September 30th -

The pile is spreading itself out like a granny at a casino. And the digital representations, from NetGalley unless otherwise noted -
DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble (free copy from BN)
THE PARADISE PROPHECY by Robert Brown
DEVIANT by Adrian McKinty
SUMMER'S CROSSING by Julie Kagawa (Harlequin free download)
DARKNESS FALLING by Peter Crowther

THE IRON KNIGHT by Julie Kagawa
THE WALKING DEAD by Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga
DITCHED by Robin Mellom
WINTER IN WARTIME by Jan Terlouw
THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison

If nothing else, I've drastically reduced my NetGalley list. I don't feel so bad. Much.

August TBR Pile Update

With a major influx of YA cheese this past month, I'm not going to be surprised if my much lower numbers from last month take a flying leap.

The original pile at the beginning of the year -

I closed out July with 221 books. August finished with 275 total between tangible and digital. At least I'm down from June. I blame my cheese addiction and the Borders closing sale.

The current pile (separated so I don't cheat on my Off The Shelf Challenge, anal, I know), that can barely fit into the frame anymore -

And the digital list (all titles from NetGalley unless otherwise stated -

THIS GIRL IS DIFFERENT by JJ Johnson

July TBR Pile Update

Well, I get a bit of a reprieve this month because I did a pretty big purge on my pile. I actually went through my tangible TBR pile and weeded out books that really didn't grab me anymore. That resulted in a large shipping bill once I put everything onto PaperBackSwap and BookMooch. I did the same thing with NetGalley and then realized that a lot of the books I had left had already been archived because I waited too long. D'oh! So I saw a drastic reduction in that list as well, just inadvertently.

Let's look at the stats -

And the NetGalley list -

1. CRAZY by Han Nolan
2. ALISON'S WONDERLAND by Alison Tyler
3. TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton
4. THE SECRET OF KA by Christopher Pike

39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

In June my numbers were at 279. Thanks to my cheating in July, they're down to 221. I feel accomplished, if only artificially. So the pile as of yesterday -

Love the big gaping gap in there. I feel lighter. And the digital list (all from NetGalley unless otherwise stated) -

MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

Yup. Accomplished. The important thing is I got the numbers down. That's all that matters and I'm sticking to it.

June TBR Pile Update

I feel confident this month. I think I really pounded some books. I know I made a nominal dent because I got ahead in my reading challenge on Goodreads. I love counters. Now let's see how I really did. You know the drill. The pile at the beginning of the year -

And the original NetGalley list -

1. CRAZY by Han Nolan
2. ALISON'S WONDERLAND by Alison Tyler
3. TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton
4. THE SECRET OF KA by Christopher Pike

36. EVERYTHING I WAS by Corrine Demas
37. WHAT CAN'T WAIT by Ashley Hope Perez
38. ONE HUNDRED CANDLES by Mara Purnhagen
39. MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST by Robert T. Jeschonek

In May my numbers jumped from 255 to 286 thanks in large part to BEA. Gotta love it. I know I knocked a bunch off of NetGalley just due to process of elimination. I read through the blurbs of all the books I had and weeded out the ones I was no longer interested in. I think I chopped off about a dozen. That still left me with a sizable list but it's not all that daunting anymore. A little weight can mean a lot. This month, I'm down to 279. Not big but not bad, especially compared to prior months when I'd only go down a book or two. I can pat myself on the back for that one.

This month's TBR pile -

And the digital book list, all titles from NetGally unless otherwise stated -

TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton

You like how my pile is now bleeding onto a second wall? The wall's getting worried.

If I hung my head in shame last month, I might as well just do a headstand now. I've not only added to the pile but made a mound of it thanks in large part to BEA. First let's start at the beginning with the original pile.

April TBR Pile Update

Yup. There again. And this month I hang my head in shame. While not a substantial amount, the number still went up. You know the drill. How the pile looked at the beginning of the year -

In March I got my number down to 251. April? The books were flowing. The number's back up to 255. I started count with 254 in February. So I'm not throwing dirt in a huge ditch; just spackling over a small dent. Still, dammit.

April's pile -

It just doesn't stop growing. And you know what's this month? BEA. Which I'm probably going to. The frame isn't going to be wide enough.

The digital copies from NetGalley and the one I got for free from BN -

I did a book count for February and I had 254 total in the pile to read. So instead of just looking at the piles and guessing I've made a dent, I can actually tell if I have or not. What was my final number for March? 251. Dent achieved.

The pile -

And the digital copies from NetGalley, Simon & Schuster and what I bought myself -

I'd just like to put out a reminder that I am reading faster than three books a month. What with the additions along with the subtractions, things have a tendency of overlapping. The fact that the numbers are starting to go down at all is a raging miracle.
