Tim Burton was a total weirdo, even at the beginning. Beetlejuice is the freak kid's answer to Stepford, the movie actually set in Connecticut in a pristine little home that just so happens to be haunted by ghosts that can rip their faces off. And one grody dude. And then there's Winona Ryder in her ever-fitting goth motif. Between the sand worms and the bugs, Beetlejuice is just plain epic.
