Holiday Book Grab Giveaway!

That there is my Christmas tree. Nice and fake (I'm not a fan of the pine smell nor pulling needles out of my dog's ass) and the lights are ghetto-rigged (it's pre-lit and a couple of layers are out; because cannibalizing the lights to find the busted one sucks, I have single strands wrapped around the blank spots to compensate). But it's my tree and I love it.

Underneath it you will notice that I have some wrapped gifts. Those, my friends, are for you. There are seven books there for seven lucky winners this Christmas. The books up for grabs are as follows, in no particular order -
  • Merlin's Harp by Anne Eliot Crompton (ARC)
  • The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe (ARC)
  • The Unusual Mind of Vincent Shadow by Tim Kehoe (ARC)
  • We Hear the Dead by Dianne K. Salerni (ARC)
  • Tricks by Ellen Hopkins (ARC)
  • Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson (ARC)
  • The Magician's Elephant by Kate DiCamillo (ARC)
Seven people will be drawn and asked to choose a number from 1 to 7. Then they'll get a surprise book in the mail! You won't be able to choose which book you want and no, I'm not showing a close-up of the wrapped books! That'd be cheating because you just might be able to narrow them down that way. No dice!

No fancy hoops to jump through. Just fill out the form below to enter. This festive shebang will end December 19th at midnight, EST. Open to US residents 13 years of age and older only. One entry per person per email address. Duplicate entries will be deleted.

Thanks for the giveaway. I like the idea of a surprise, more fun that way.

Hey. your tree looks very pretty. Mine is fake too, and pink for some reason, looks more like an Easter tree, but it works. lol. Just wanted to say Happy Holidays and I was thinking of you (one of my fav bloggers) Cheers.

I think your tree is lovely. I am too lazy, i mean busy reading/blogging, to put it up. My hubs bought bulbs last year to replace the burned out bulbs. I was so lazy I went to Target and bought all new ornaments. I have seriously considered wiring the ornaments to the tree and storing it in my coat closet. What I want to know is why my cats instantly need to sleep on the skirt? Thanks for the great contest. I have one going until Wednesday; hope you'll enter.Fangs, Wands and Fairy Dust

LOL I did the same thing last year with my lights, and this year I had to rip all the lights out as all of them went out. It totally stunk. Your tree looks beautiful!

Thanks, everyone! Glad I'm not the only one that ghetto-rigs Christmas trees. Why not? It's not like it looks bad. If I had one section blinking or something, I might have to light the thing on fire, though. Oh the memories of pre-pre-lit Christmas trees and the random batch of blinkers.

Such a cute tree! Unfortunately I'm in the wrong country (UK) so can't enter, never mind.

What a great (and generous) idea! I might have to use a variation of that sometime.

Your tree is very pretty! It's all about the creativity and the special memories that come from trying to get it all together without killing somebody in the process. The stories are funny now but we've had the crooked and lopsided trees, burned out lights, broken ornaments and a few trees that have tipped right over. You just rig em up and make em work. Then gaze adoringly at the finished product and try to block out the bad memories until next year when you get to do it all over again!

Love the tree - even if the lights are ghetto-rigged. It adds character. Thanks for the contest!
