Could be interesting. It all depends on where the plot decides to go. Can't tell very much from the summary but I might be intrigued enough to read it.

Title: Blood Spell: Vampire's Love #2
Author: Janice Harrell
Published: November 1995
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Summary:
Rina's desperate to escape her bloody calling. If a spell could be found to make her human again everything would be fine. However, time is running out as Vlad wants her back for good. (from fantasticfiction.co.uk)
OMFG, is that a frog with fangs? WTF? And why is there always a token Vlad in vampire books? Really? Still, I want to read this one. I'm loving the adverse to the "make me a vampire" pile out there now.

Title: Blood Curse, Vampire's Love #1
Author: Janice Harrell
Published: October 1995
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Pages: 176
Summary:
Two bestselling genres in one fast-paced miniseries--horror and romance abound in this gripping new miniseries from the author of The Secret Diaries. Girls 12 and up will love the first installment of this two-book tale about a teenage vampire, the boy she falls in love with, and her desperate attempt to become human again. (from bn.com)
Well this is pretty intriguing. Especially in today's market, you don't see much of the girl being on the paranormal side and wanting to be human. I like it just for that aspect. More books to add to the pile!

Still looking good. I've started scouring used bookstore sites to nab this series. Even amidst all the vampire fluff out now, this stands out to me.

Title: Bloodlust, Vampire Twins #2
Author: Janice Harrell
Published: October 1994
Publisher: HarperCollins Publishers
Pages: 240
Summary:
The thrilling story of a sister and brother torn apart by the unthinkable secret that is their destiny. Horrified by her true nature, Anne Marie denies her cravings. Must she cut herself off from her twin brother to avoid becoming a vampire? Paul plunges into his father's legacy, but will his new power destroy Anne Marie--and himself? (from bn.com)
This sounds like a really intriguing series. It's something different. Amazing that a brother/sister duo can be refreshing. But I guess when they're pushed up against a bunch of teen paranormal romances, they are going to stand out, aren't they?

Title: Bloodlines, Vampire Twins #1
Author: Janice Harrell
Published: September 1994
Publisher: HarperCollins
Summary:
Struggling to cope with their dark vampire legacy, Anne Marie Montclair grieves over her mother's tragic death, while her twin brother, Paul, is torn between his love for his sister and his hatred toward the father who had abandoned him. (from amazon.com)
Well that's interesting. You know there's more to this. I just wish they said what. Are these kids vampires or is it like a genetic trait that can skip generations? Is this more heavily focused on being vampires or something else? It sounds intriguing and I think I may have heard about this many moons ago.

Title: Escape, The Secret Diaries #3
Author: Janice Harrell
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Published: July 1994
Pages: 304
Summary:
Swearing secrecy to the group that is covering up the facts about Laurie and Casey's "accidental" deaths, Joanna and her boyfriend, Penn, are horrified to discover that her diary has been stolen by a killer who is out of control.
Is this an omnibus? Because I have a hard time believing that each of these books is 304 pages long. And I'm not too sure about a serial killer stealing a girl's diary and all hell breaking loose. Kind of far-fetched to me . . .

Title: Betrayal, The Secret Diaries #2
Author: Janice Harrell
Published: June 1994
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Pages: 304
Summary:
After discovering, to her horror, that her boyfriend and his friends are responsible for a girl's death, Joanna agrees to cover up the truth, until one of the group turns to blackmail. (from fantasticfiction.co.uk)
Kind of sounds like I Know What You Did Last Summer with a slight twist of the plot. Still, I might be able to read it if it took a more unusual approach. I hate it when I start reading a book that I like and reads so different only to have it end up on Overdone Way.

Title: Temptation: The Secret Diaries #1

Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Pages: 304
Summary:
Consumed by her desire to be the one that Penn loves, Joanna nevertheless has some reservations that she records in her diary, a book that becomes a shocking chronicle of monstrous evil and puts her life in danger.
Well that's interesting. And this is a mighty long YA book, especially for the time. 304 pages? That a door stopper compared to the rest. Still, sounds pretty interesting. I'm game!
